About the position

The Purchasing/Accounts Payable Assistant will support the invoicing, billing, and accounts payable department within a manufacturing company. This role involves close collaboration with the current Accounts Payable Assistant and Purchasing Manager, requiring strong organizational skills and self-motivation to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Daily scanning & filing
  • Assist with other departments as needed
  • Matching bills (PO's & Invoices)
  • Maintain relationship with vendors, placing orders for products based on current inventory needs, and tracking shipments
  • Perform vendor research to enhance profitability and reduce operating costs
  • Work with Warehouse staff to review deliveries with purchase orders and help identify discrepancies
  • Miscellaneous office duties

Requirements

  • 2 years of QuickBooks experience required
  • College Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Intermediate computer program skills in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work independently, and with a team, in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy, organization, and timeliness
  • Displays a genuine passion for their work and portrays a sense of purpose and enthusiasm
