About the position

The Purchasing Agent Clerk/Business Office Representative at Texas Health Surgery Center Chisholm Trail plays a crucial role in managing inventory and supporting business office functions. This hybrid position involves responsibilities in both materials management and business office operations, ensuring efficient supply management and assisting with various administrative tasks related to patient care and surgery scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the facility inventory management plan to support patient care.
  • Receive and distribute supplies, floor stock, office supplies, and rental equipment.
  • Maintain adequate levels of inventory and return excess stock.
  • Perform periodic physical inventories as assigned.
  • Monitor and track outdated supplies, ensuring none are issued.
  • Check incoming shipments for damage and ensure all receipts have purchase order numbers.
  • Communicate with vendors and sales representatives as a liaison for clinical teammates.
  • Assist in scheduling surgeries and handling calls from physician's offices regarding patient scheduling.
  • Perform various clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, and maintaining patient charts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in medical supplies/equipment and materials management preferred.
  • Current BLS certification or within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in health care and one year in surgery scheduling procedures preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of surgery scheduling and registration responsibilities.
