The Purchasing Agent Clerk/Business Office Representative at Texas Health Surgery Center Chisholm Trail plays a crucial role in managing inventory and supporting business office functions. This hybrid position involves responsibilities in both materials management and business office operations, ensuring efficient supply chain processes and effective communication with clinical teams and vendors. The role is essential for maintaining safe patient care and facilitating smooth administrative operations within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the facility inventory management plan to support patient care.
• Receive and distribute supply, floor stock, office supplies, and rental equipment.
• Maintain adequate levels of inventory and return/remove excess stock.
• Perform periodic physical inventories as assigned.
• Monitor and track outdated supplies to ensure safety and compliance.
• Ensure all receipts have purchase order numbers and are authorized.
• Check incoming shipments for damage and follow vendor contracts and policies.
• Assist in scheduling surgeries and managing related administrative tasks.
• Handle phone calls from physician offices regarding scheduling and patient information.
• Perform various clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, and maintaining patient records.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience in medical supplies/equipment and materials management preferred.
• Current BLS card or within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience in health care and one-year experience in surgery scheduling procedures preferred.
• Basic knowledge of surgery scheduling and registration responsibilities.
