About the position

The Purchasing Agent/Warehouse Manager position is a full-time role based in South El Monte, CA, focused on the procurement of wholesale goods and warehouse management. The primary responsibilities include sourcing and purchasing products specifically for new automobiles and heavy machinery, as well as other materials such as wood and steel. The role also involves managing the warehouse operations related to the sale of packaging materials, assisting with clerical tasks, and ensuring efficient inventory management. In addition to procurement duties, the position requires light driving for errands and the delivery of automobiles for export. The successful candidate will assist with logistics and transportation of products, ensuring that all received products are checked in properly, documented with detailed pictures, and organized for customer service purposes. This role demands strong negotiation skills, effective communication, and the ability to follow up on deals independently. Candidates should be proficient in using various computer programs, including Microsoft Office and Google Sheets, with QuickBooks experience being a plus. A valid driver's license with a good record is required, and the candidate should be a team player with some experience in warehouse duties, including inventory management and light manual labor.

Responsibilities

  • Finding and purchasing products specifically used for new automobiles and heavy machinery.
  • Managing warehouse operations for the sale of packaging materials.
  • Assisting with clerical tasks related to will call orders, light cleaning, and inventory duties.
  • Performing light driving for errands and delivery of automobiles for export.
  • Assisting with logistics and transportation of products for export.
  • Receiving and checking in products, taking detailed pictures, organizing data, and providing customer service.

Requirements

  • Negotiation skills in purchasing and searching for products over the phone and internet.
  • Good communication and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage individual deals responsibly.
  • Fluency in English and willingness to communicate with vendors and suppliers aggressively.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and programs such as Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a good record.
  • Willingness to be a team player and some experience with warehouse duties such as inventory management, driving a forklift, and light manual labor.
