Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate supplies based on quality, cost, and reliability.
• Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions advantageous to the company.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement needs and specifications.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, prices, and deliveries.
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and product availability to make informed decisions.
• Work closely with senior management to address supply chain issues.
• Update accounting systems to accurately document the receiving of purchased items.
• Understand sales tax implications of purchases and implement proper accounting steps to comply with sales tax laws.
• Understand shipping cost implications of purchases and implement proper accounting steps to properly account for shipping costs.
• Assist with physical inventory counts when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in trailer parts purchasing.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines efficiently.
• Able to pass a 10-year background check.
• Able to pass a drug test/medical physical exam.
