About the position

We are seeking a skilled Inventory Manager for our small cannabis dispensary. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, data analysis, and sourcing to ensure the dispensary's inventory/store stays compliant and fully stocked with the highest quality cannabis products. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized and productive, as well as a team player with a positive attitude. In this role, you will lead all inventory operations and controls, including sell-through rates, analyzing customer purchasing habits, markdowns, destruction, and removal of products. You will supervise the completion of required data entry using internal tracking and point of sale software and state-required electronic record-keeping systems. Working closely with dispensary associates, you will lead by example to increase efficiency, accuracy, and product knowledge while maintaining a positive and approachable demeanor. You will coordinate inventory purchasing orders based on projected needs, negotiate pricing, discount and credit terms, delivery schedules, and payment of invoices. Additionally, you will prepare for pop-up events and ensure that inventory is appropriately managed. Constant monitoring of product levels and quality will be essential, as will preparing and running reports, planning budgets, pricing products, and making purchasing decisions based on estimated consumer demand and sales data. Building professional relationships with vendors to achieve cost-effective deals will also be a key responsibility. You will ensure compliance with state and local rules, conduct monthly audits, and maintain accurate records of all product samples and waste procedures. This role requires a dynamic and positive personality, strong decision-making capabilities, and the ability to procure products effectively while maintaining quality standards. The working environment is fast-paced and rapidly changing, typical of a retail dispensary. You will be expected to stand for long periods and communicate effectively with customers, employees, and visitors. Responsibilities

  • Lead all inventory operations and controls including sell-through rates, analyzing customer purchasing habits, markdowns, destruction, and removal of product.
  • Supervise the completion of required data entry using internal tracking and point of sale software and state-required electronic record keeping systems.
  • Work with dispensary associates to increase efficiency, accuracy, and product knowledge with a positive attitude and approachable manner.
  • Coordinate inventory purchasing orders based upon projected needs, including negotiating pricing, discount and credit terms, delivery schedules, and payment of invoices.
  • Coordinate pop-ups and prepare inventory accordingly.
  • Identify back stock of product(s) to be moved for sale and products that are soon to expire.
  • Monitor levels and quality of all products for sale.
  • Prepare/run reports, planning budgets, pricing products, product promotions/bundles, and make purchasing decisions based on estimated consumer demand, sales data, and industry knowledge.
  • Develop professional relationships with vendors to achieve cost effective deals and pricing.
  • Update and print store specials/bundles for customers to see while in the store.
  • Maintain positive & professional relationships with vendors and communicate regarding product(s).
  • Ensure all deals and specials are accurate on Flowhub and Dutchie and that those deals/specials are working properly on said platforms.
  • Conduct monthly audits and maintain digital and physical copies of METRC Inventory Audits.
  • Report daily sales to Metrc at the end of the night.
  • Oversee receiving of product, including unpacking, examination for quality or tampering, sorting, labeling, and storing merchandise.
  • Keep a detailed record of all product samples and supply compliant sample bags to the staff for product review.
  • Discard waste products compliantly and maintain digital and physical copies of waste procedures.
  • Help the company update their standard operating procedures when needed.
  • Maintain product menus to ensure accuracy for inventory and diversity of product.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local rules.
  • Investigate any/all discrepancies.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in inventory management (dispensary)
  • 1 year of experience in purchasing
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more when necessary
  • Proficiency in analyzing data and utilizing tools such as Nielsen for market insights
  • Advanced METRC knowledge
  • Cannabis retail management experience
  • Above-average communication, collaboration, and delegation skills
  • Dynamic and positive personality
  • Strong decision-making capabilities

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred knowledge of Flowhub
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs overhead
  • Must be 21+ years of age
