RP Foods is seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Manager to oversee inventory management and purchasing operations within our company. This role is critical in ensuring that our inventory levels are optimized and that our procurement processes are efficient and cost-effective. The Purchasing and Inventory Manager will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, maximizing inventory turns, and minimizing inventory losses. This position will require a hands-on approach to manage various third-party logistics (3PL) partners while also overseeing the Dallas warehouse team. The successful candidate will be expected to track shipments and stock levels across our company-operated warehouse in Dallas, TX, and various 3PL facilities throughout the United States. In this role, you will develop and execute strategies to enhance the procurement and inventory management processes. You will own and manage the NetSuite Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure the accuracy of inventory records. Regular follow-ups with vendors and suppliers will be necessary to ensure timely delivery of materials and goods. You will also monitor inventory levels to ensure that materials and supplies are readily available, analyze data to identify opportunities for cost savings, and implement inventory control policies and procedures. Additionally, you will supervise warehouse personnel in Dallas, implementing appropriate inventory control procedures, and work closely with accounts payable to ensure a valid three-way match on all inventory purchases. You will issue purchase orders and coordinate the delivery of products at various warehouse locations while collaborating with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency. Building and cultivating relationships with 3PL partners will be essential to align with the strategic vision of the organization, achieving optimal cost and service levels. You will also be responsible for monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turns by SKU, fill rates, and inventory variances.
