About the position

The Purchasing and Warehouse Manager at DO & CO is responsible for overseeing and optimizing procurement and warehouse operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain management. This role is crucial for maintaining a seamless flow of goods and services, managing inventory, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers and service vendors, particularly in the context of airline catering services. The position also involves regional procurement responsibilities and offers opportunities for genuine career development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure advantageous terms.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and product availability to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure timely and quality deliveries and/or service.
  • Collaborate with vendors to identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers/vendors promptly and professionally.
  • Implement effective inventory control practices to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Conduct regular stock assessments, identify slow-moving items, and implement appropriate measures.
  • Work closely with other departments to forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Oversee the efficient and organized operation of the warehouse.
  • Implement and enhance warehouse processes to maximize space utilization and streamline operations.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory records through regular audits and cycle counts.
  • Display and endorse exemplary leadership across all departments and towards clients.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and accountability.
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify opportunities for professional development.
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the warehouse.

Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a related purchasing field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Navision.
  • Strong analysis and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and with a diverse clientele.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks within strict deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with institutional and contract food and beverage purchasing.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
