About the position

The Purchasing Assistant - Customer Service role at ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics involves providing customer service and purchasing support for the Defense Logistics Agency. This hybrid position allows for a combination of remote and in-office work, focusing on expediting requests, processing purchase orders, and assisting with vendor communications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service and purchasing material support through email and phone calls using a database.
  • Expedite requests for quote (RFQ) responses and purchase order (PO) shipments.
  • Process vendor acknowledgements and collect requested vendor PO documentation.
  • Close out purchase orders and perform receipt and cross-dock administrative functions.
  • Review and resolve shipping and payroll discrepancies; assist buyers and program managers.
  • Perform data entry, run status reports, file, and perform other general administrative duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma + 2-4 years of relevant customer service experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to pass a background check for access to the customer site.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient Customer Service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in purchasing activities, supplier/vendor expediting, RFQs, and follow-up with requests.
  • Prior military sales and material purchasing background.
