About the position
The Purchasing Assistant at Gundersen Health System plays a crucial role in processing and expediting orders for medical supplies, equipment, and services. This position supports the Purchasing Manager and other team members in maintaining the Materials Management System and ensuring timely procurement of necessary items. The role offers a full-time schedule with potential for hybrid work after training, emphasizing a commitment to work-life balance and professional development.
Responsibilities
- Process and expedite orders for materials and services within the area of responsibility.
- Coordinate the return of material goods to suppliers as needed.
- Maintain the Materials Management System based on management standards.
- Support Sr Buyers in communicating out of stock concerns and assisting with product substitution procurement.
- Assist in maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Purchasing Assistant role.
- Adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
- Perform other job-related responsibilities as requested.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency required.
- 2 years or more experience in supply chain or related field required.
- Previous office experience preferred with strong organization and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or two-year or higher education in a related field desired.
- 6 months or more experience in Lawson/Infor software desired.
