About the position

The Purchasing Category Manager for Sustainability & Indirect at Saint-Gobain will lead the purchasing department's sustainability initiatives, particularly focusing on the Life Sciences sector. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with sustainability goals related to suppliers, developing category strategies, and managing supplier relationships to drive cost savings and efficiency. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and the ability to negotiate contracts effectively while maintaining a focus on sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Lead sustainability efforts for Life Sciences related to suppliers.
• Develop and manage a roadmap to meet sustainability goals.
• Create category strategies for contract manufacturing and local CAPEX needs.
• Identify gaps between business unit needs and spend covered by agreements.
• Negotiate with suppliers and create supply/service agreements.
• Report on savings and avoidance achieved in purchasing.
• Coordinate regional support and leverage buying power.
• Develop an internal network to improve compliance with existing agreements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
• 3+ years of experience in Purchasing Management, preferably in Manufacturing.
• 3+ years of experience in Supply Agreement/Contract Negotiations, preferably in Manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation and project management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations.
• Experience in sustainability initiatives within purchasing.
