About the position
The Purchasing Category Specialist is responsible for developing procurement documents such as RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, while analyzing vendor proposals to select the most suitable suppliers. This role requires collaboration with various business departments to understand their needs and solve complex procurement challenges. The position is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension and offers a hybrid work environment, requiring in-office presence two days a week.
Responsibilities
- Develop request for information (RFI), proposal (RFP) and quote (RFQ) documents in conjunction with business department requirements for obtaining goods and services.
- Analyze and evaluate vendor quotes and proposals to determine the most desirable suppliers, including critical evaluations of price, quality, experience, and capabilities.
- Facilitate interdepartmental relationships to achieve both corporate and Procurement objectives.
- Work directly with all business departments to gain an in-depth understanding of their core business in order to help identify and solve complex problems.
Requirements
- 3+ years of total experience in procurement/purchasing/buyer areas
- Comprehensive knowledge of business principles, strategies and practices
- Must be authorized to work in the US. Sponsorships are not available.
