About the position

The Purchasing Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining inventory levels and providing purchasing planning and control information.

Responsibilities

• Manage and handle the process of filling customer orders by verifying accuracy and common trade application of products ordered.
• Identify appropriate product sources and prepare purchase orders to suppliers/vendors.
• Arrange delivery and verify receipt of items ordered.
• Authorize final payment to suppliers/vendors.
• Prepare accurate and detailed purchase orders by verifying specifications and prices.
• Obtain recommendations from suppliers for substitute items as necessary.
• Monitor shipments to ensure goods are received on time and trace shipments in case of problems.
• Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective actions.
• Maintain manual or computerized procurement records, including items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality, and inventories.
• Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
• 1 year of experience in sourcing.
• 1 year of experience in procurement.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and Outlook.
