About the position

The Purchasing Clerk at ZYGO Corporation is responsible for processing purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services, and maintaining accurate records of purchasing activities. This role supports the Supply Chain Manager and involves vendor communication, order tracking, and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing purchase requisitions to analyze department needs and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Conducting vendor research to identify potential suppliers and obtain pricing and product specifications.
• Creating purchase orders with detailed item descriptions, quantities, and delivery dates.
• Tracking the status of purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Negotiating prices with vendors where appropriate.
• Verifying invoices against purchase orders for accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels to identify potential stock shortages.
• Filing and maintaining purchase order documents, vendor information, and other relevant records.
• Communicating with departments regarding purchase requests, delivery updates, and any issues with orders.
• Processing purchase orders accurately and ensuring correct information is entered.
• Managing multiple purchase orders and maintaining organized records.

Requirements

• 1 year of procurement experience (Required)
• 1 year of purchasing experience (Required)
• High School Diploma (Required)
• AA Degree in a related field (Preferred)
• Attention to detail in processing purchase orders and ensuring accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple purchase orders.
• Computer proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective communication skills with internal departments and external vendors.
• Math skills for calculating quantities, prices, and discounts.
