About the position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk to join our team immediately. The ideal candidate should have strong clerical experience, proficiency in English for business communication, and excellent organizational skills. This role involves assisting with financial tasks, processing purchase orders, researching vendors, comparing prices, and managing the procurement process from requisition to delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and reviewing purchase requisitions verifying accuracy and authorization.
  • Monitoring the status of purchase orders, and communicating with suppliers regarding delivery dates and any order discrepancies.
  • Reviewing and approving vendor invoices for accuracy against purchase orders.
  • Coordinating with accounting to authorize and schedule vendor and freight payments.
  • Resolving grievances with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of purchasing clerical experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem resolution and crisis management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Demonstrated planner/buyer management skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a business perspective and a sense of urgency
