About the position

The Facility Purchasing Clerk at Albertsons is responsible for supporting the maintenance and operation of the milk production facility by procuring essential supplies and services. This role ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, particularly Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations, while managing purchasing activities that support maintenance, safety, and production.

Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment required for facility operations while ensuring compliance with SOX regulations.
  • Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure timely procurement of critical materials.
  • Collaborate with vendors to negotiate contracts and pricing for facility-related purchases, while adhering to company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, deliveries, and inventory levels, ensuring all documentation meets SOX and internal audit standards.
  • Monitor inventory of maintenance and operational supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels and compliance with purchasing procedures.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to forecast material and tool needs for preventive maintenance while maintaining regulatory and company standards.
  • Assist in managing contracts for facility services, such as HVAC, janitorial, and equipment repairs, ensuring all agreements align with company policies.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company purchasing policies, budgetary constraints, and SOX requirements.
  • Prepare reports on purchasing activities, costs, and vendor performance for management review and audit purposes.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to facility management, procurement, and compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Previous experience in purchasing or procurement, especially in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX compliance, internal auditing procedures, and company policy adherence.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in purchasing software and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of facility maintenance and operational needs is an advantage.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance and production staff.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including overtime as needed.
