About the position

The Purchasing Department Manager at Eden Foods is responsible for overseeing the activities and organization of the Purchasing Department. This role involves developing purchasing strategies, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring accurate records and processes to meet the company's goals. The manager will lead a team, optimize inventory, and negotiate procurement contracts while fostering a collaborative culture within the department.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the activities and organization of the Purchasing Department
• Develop a purchasing strategy to satisfy Eden Foods' requirements and specifications
• Develop, maintain, and improve supplier and grower relationships
• Foster a collaborative, cross-trained culture in the Purchasing Department
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for the Department and company
• Train and lead Department staff with an emphasis on specifications and teamwork
• Improve systems for product information accuracy and access
• Manage purchasing processes, documents, systems, and tools
• Manage and optimize inventory, fill rates, and purchase decisions
• Perform pricing analysis and forecasting
• Analyze market conditions and develop strategies to meet company needs
• Negotiate favorable details of cost and terms for purchases
• Ensure procurement contracts meet legal and company requirements
• Collaborate with the purchasing team to improve efficiency and productivity

• Organized with attention to detail and accuracy
• Problem-solving skills and engagement
• Knowledge of agricultural supply systems and perishable commodities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and works well with others
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Eden Foods' software programs
• Experience in Supply Chain Management
