About the position

Loenbro is seeking a Purchasing Department Manager to oversee the procurement process and manage purchasing agent teams. This role is crucial for sourcing suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and optimizing costs to ensure a seamless supply chain. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, make strategic decisions, and implement best practices in procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Optimizing and implementing procurement strategies and policies for cost optimization and enhancing supply chain efficiency.
  • Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards.
  • Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and payment terms.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with organizational goals.
  • Conducting market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing fluctuations.
  • Managing supplier relationships, including ongoing performance evaluation and issue resolution.
  • Optimizing procurement systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Preparing and presenting reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and cost savings to higher management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role within the industrial services or construction industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
