About the position

The Kitchen Receiver is responsible for maintaining inventory stock and organization in the kitchen area, supporting kitchen staff by ensuring the quality and accuracy of received items. This role involves receiving deliveries, managing inventory rotation, and maintaining cleanliness in storage areas.

Responsibilities

  • Receive all deliveries and ensure proper quality of all items received at the time of delivery.
  • Compare delivered items to invoices to ensure accuracy.
  • Rotate inventory items as they are received, following FIFO (First in, First out) principles.
  • Act as a point person for cooks and front of house colleagues in locating products on site.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dry storage areas, cold storage areas, loading dock, and receiving area.
  • Assist in other areas as needed, including food prep.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in fast-paced workplace food services and/or high-volume public café services.
  • Knowledgeable about kitchen receiving tasks and processes.
  • Willingness to spend time outdoors in inclement weather (minimal).
  • Willingness to work in refrigeration and freezer areas.
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining high quality teamwork.
  • Knowledge of FIFO inventory management.
  • Strong reading and communication skills in English language required.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
