About the position

The Purchasing Manager at American Fan is a senior-level role responsible for overseeing and managing procurement activities that support the Navy and Industrial sectors. This position focuses on sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services to ensure efficient production processes while optimizing costs and maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills to foster relationships across various functional areas and with external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Analyze market trends to identify potential opportunities and risks.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance.
  • Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to coordinate material needs.
  • Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including order placement, tracking, and receipt.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contract terms.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to procurement activities.
  • Conduct regular audits of purchasing processes to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Supervise and mentor purchasing staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably Defense focused.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in supplier relationship management.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and compliance.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire and guide a team.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
