About the position

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing and enforcing Corporate Purchasing policies related to the procurement of goods and services for the property. This role involves collaboration with the Sr. Corporate Purchasing Manager on corporate initiatives and projects, ensuring compliance with purchasing policies, and optimizing purchasing processes. The ideal candidate should possess strong management skills and extensive hands-on experience in facilities management.

Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with all Corporate Purchasing policies and procedures.
• Trains new employees on the Purchasing system and Corporate policies.
• Monitors system functions and internal processes, recommending efficiency improvements to the Sr. Corporate Purchasing Manager.
• Works on the monthly Open Purchase Order report in compliance with policy.
• Reviews submitted requisitions, obtains best prices, and forwards for final approvals.
• Prepares purchase orders for approved requisitions.
• Ensures receipt of vendor confirmations and attaches them to associated purchase orders.
• Negotiates with vendors to procure the best prices and quickest service for local needs.
• Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations.
• Collaborates with the Sr. Corporate Purchasing Manager on enterprise-wide projects.
• Informs the Sr. Corporate Manager of recurring compliance issues with regulations and standards.
• Assists in resolving problems with purchases or services, discussing issues with users, vendors, or quality control personnel.
• Aids the Corporate Purchasing team with new vendor requests.

Requirements

• 7-10 years' experience in purchasing, receiving, and inventory control.
• Bachelor's degree in a related or relevant area preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
