About the position

The Purchasing Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing procurement, import/export, receiving, shipping, and inventory teams for a fast-growing prefabricated construction company. This position is essential for maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring safety, managing cross-border operations, and optimizing the ERP system for maximum efficiency. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and Spanish and possess a strong background in lean manufacturing and supply chain management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the procurement of materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring clear communication and negotiation for favorable terms.
  • Manage the import of materials and the export of finished modules, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely logistics.
  • Oversee shipping logistics to ensure the efficient movement of goods in and out of the facility.
  • Lead the inventory team, focusing on accuracy, level management, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ensure the proper use of the Odoo ERP system for tracking inventory, procurement, and other supply chain activities.
  • Manage and train teams to achieve departmental goals, acting both as an individual contributor and a leader.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste throughout the supply chain process.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Experience working in IMEX (Immex) environments is required.
  • Proficiency in ERP (preferably Odoo), MRP, and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, is required.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and safety in inventory management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
