About the position

The Purchasing Manager will oversee and manage all purchasing activities for a leading global food manufacturer based in Torrance, CA. This role involves developing and implementing strategies for procurement both internationally and domestically, as well as establishing and measuring the performance of vendors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies for international and domestic procurement.
• Establish and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, co-packers, and blenders.
• Measure and evaluate the performance of procurement partners.
• Ensure compliance with food ingredient standards including organic, gluten-free, kosher, and non-GMO requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bilingual in Japanese and English.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, procurement, or production.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in food and/or beverage ingredients.

Nice-to-haves

• QuickBooks experience preferred.
