Michael Page has partnered with a leading luxury custom homebuilder in Houston, focusing on the ground-up construction of homes valued between $2 million and $7 million. Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of projects extending through 2026, our client is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join their senior team and lead the Purchasing department through this significant growth phase. As a key component of this team, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company's purchasing functions, organizing and awarding supplier contracts, and providing full operational and team leadership for the Purchasing Department. This role is critical in ensuring that the purchasing processes align with the company's strategic goals and project timelines. In this position, the Purchasing Manager will work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to procure materials and maintain accurate contracts. The responsibilities will include managing all material and production takeoffs, estimating plans, and compliance documentation. The Purchasing Manager will also lead a team of Agents, Coordinators, and Managers within the purchasing team, acting as the primary liaison for all subcontractors. This includes leading all selection processes, bid processing, and product scheduling processes. Additionally, the Purchasing Manager will assist the construction team in managing subcontractors, supervise bidding for on and off-site construction, analyze contract scopes of work (including take-offs), and negotiate pricing. The role also involves supervising the maintenance and updates to master trade partner/subcontractor lists and ensuring compliance with subcontractor and supplier insurance policies. Furthermore, the Purchasing Manager will manage the development and updates to community options books, which include pricing, specifications, and photos.
