About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Resident Essentials is responsible for overseeing the purchasing process to ensure optimal stock availability for the company's catalog and online sales channels. This role requires strategic planning, vendor management, and collaboration with sales and finance teams to forecast demand and adjust purchasing plans accordingly. The ideal candidate will utilize the inventory system (NetSuiteERP) to monitor inventory levels and analyze sales trends, contributing to the company's growth and success in serving seniors and individuals with physical or cognitive difficulties.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals.
  • Place purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of products to meet sales demands.
  • Monitor inventory levels across all channels to prevent stockouts of key items while avoiding overstock situations.
  • Work closely with sales and finance teams to forecast demand and adjust purchasing plans accordingly.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and terms to meet cost objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for inventory optimization and cost savings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred - Supply Chain Management, or a related field a plus.
  • Actual experience with purchasing systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • Experience with Apparel purchasing in a retail environment.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management abilities.
  • Proficiency in demand planning.
  • Exceptional communication and team collaboration skills.
