About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Toledo Tool & Die is responsible for overseeing the procurement of materials, products, and services to support the company's operations. This role involves negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The Purchasing Manager will also focus on streamlining purchasing processes to enhance efficiency and support the company's growth objectives.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate purchasing activities for materials, products, and services.
• Negotiate contracts and formulate policies with suppliers and vendors.
• Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Oversee planning, scheduling, and supplier performance regarding material delivery status.
• Locate suitable vendors and determine product availability and terms of sales.
• Ensure execution of purchase orders in alignment with purchasing strategies and supplier agreements.
• Provide input in supplier agreements to align with business processes and objectives.
• Lead and develop team members to foster a positive business culture.
• Support quality and compliance with IATF-16949 documentation requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in a related field or a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in purchasing steel and knowledge of metal stampings in an OEM or Tier I/II supplier context.
• Knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Familiarity with production methods and coordination of resources.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control techniques.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems, preferably Plex.
