The Purchasing Manager/Senior Buyer at Delva Tool, a CMT company, is responsible for purchasing materials and services in accordance with company policies. Responsibilities

  • Purchase materials and services according to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure purchasing documents are complete and accurate, including appropriate terms and conditions.
  • Maintain purchase orders to support ongoing material supply, including long-term contracts.
  • Coordinate with Engineering Manager to ensure uninterrupted supply of required material.
  • Provide timely updates on supplier quality or delivery problems to management.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with suppliers for prompt resolution of quality or delivery problems.
  • Evaluate vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
  • Negotiate quality, delivery, and cost with vendors.
  • Maintain pricing histories and other vendor records.
  • Maintain supply system database for proper sourcing, procurement lead times, order quantities, prices, and internal delivery requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and hold suppliers accountable for performance levels.
  • Continually improve processes and procedures to better serve the organization, vendors, and customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field highly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of purchasing experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
