The Purchasing Manager plays a vital role in the Supply Chain, responsible for securing and managing incoming supplies. This position collaborates closely with various teams to ensure inventory accuracy and timely delivery. Candidates should have prior experience in materials management and purchasing, particularly in environments with strong lean systems. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to ongoing training and development.

Responsibilities

• Manage the purchasing process and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Develop and manage purchasing systems and structures.
• Conduct risk assessments and problem-solving as needed.
• Coordinate freight and implement cost-saving measures.
• Ensure rapid material flow and manage material movement needs.
• Package and ship items or small orders to customers.
• Contribute to weekly inventory and operation meetings.
• Utilize min-max systems, safety stock, kanban, and other Lean processes.
• Perform physical work to fill gaps on the shop floor.

Requirements

• 3 years of purchasing or buying experience required.
• 1 year of experience with MRP software required.
• 1 year of experience in lean manufacturing required.
• 1 year of inventory management experience preferred.
