As a Purchasing Manager, you will manage the Purchasing Department activities, which include sourcing, generating requests for proposals, negotiating vendor agreements, and ensuring a stable supply of products for the organization. You will be a hands-on leader who manages a team responsible for the development, administration, and implementation of sound purchasing practices. This role involves overseeing the purchase order system, including monitoring internal requisitions and purchase orders to assure all are issued correctly. You will partner with finance and all other departments for purchasing-related issues and negotiate the most favorable pricing, terms, and discounts. Additionally, you will manage all aspects of the purchasing process to maintain inventory, parts, and supplies at planned levels, and develop sound procurement practices of perishable medically related inventory in a highly regulated medical device and pharmaceutical environment. You will also manage the company cycle count process, including annual certification.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate vendor pricing, terms, and discounts and establish all supplier agreements and vendor contracts.
  • Manage the purchase of materials at optimum cost levels to ensure production and customer shipments are not interrupted.
  • Resolve supply problems to minimize risk with production capabilities.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the Purchasing Supervisor, Buyers, Purchasing Associate, and Inventory Control.
  • Provide guidance and growth opportunities to team members.
  • Participate in strategic meetings with suppliers and business leaders to ensure execution of defined strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in purchasing, procurement, and/or supply chain role required; medical device and/or pharmaceutical environment strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience of current people management experience required.
  • Designated Representative licensure required, role will be required to obtain CA and FL designated representative licensure once eligible.
  • Experience with submission of chargebacks or rebate files via EDI is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills are a must.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and Great Plains.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage projects alongside day-to-day activities.
  • Resourceful, well organized, dependable, efficient, detail-oriented, and adaptable to change.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with submission of chargebacks or rebate files via EDI is a plus.
