About the position

The position involves managing procurement activities for both production and non-production products and services. The successful candidate will lead and execute strategies to meet agreed service levels with both internal and external customers. This role requires collaboration with various departments including Strategic Sourcing, Quality Engineering, and Material Flow in a production environment to manage favorable commodity contracts. Additionally, the candidate will work with Facilities, IT, HS&E, HR, Finance, and Capital Equipment Coordinators in a non-production environment to manage multi-million dollar contracts and long-term agreements. Key responsibilities include determining functional objectives and managing organizational performance to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and cost performance, as well as contract fulfillment for all purchased products and services. The role also involves managing Supplier Performance Management and HOS processes, developing e-Sourcing support objectives, and overseeing department-wide tracking and reporting. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing supply strategies to ensure world-class material availability, purchase order alignment, and lead time reductions to support the master production schedule and plant requirements. The position requires the development and implementation of strategic inventory management to meet operating plan objectives, as well as procurement strategies for infrastructure product and service requirements. The candidate will participate in strategy and decision processes leading to the outsourcing of services and manage associated procurement activities. The role also includes fostering continuous improvement approaches, implementing Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiencies, and ensuring compliance with various procurement regulations and principles. The candidate will supervise employees, manage supply chain training, and seek feedback from customers and stakeholders to align strategies with best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement activities for production and non-production products and services.

Requirements

  • Eight or more years of multi-functional supply chain/procurement experience in a manufacturing business.
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate business or technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience administering procurement contracts and influencing contract parameters.
  • Advanced experience in project/team leadership with high-quality results.
  • Practical experience with FAR/DEAR procurement requirements.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
