About the position

The Purchasing Manager is a strategic role essential for optimizing procurement processes and enhancing supply chain efficiency at Hovair. This position involves developing and executing purchasing strategies that align with company goals, ensuring timely acquisition of quality goods and services while effectively managing costs. The role also includes supporting other D&B locations as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts for quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee inventory levels and forecast needs based on production requirements, implementing systems to minimize excess stock and reduce shortages.
• Develop and refine procurement policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Lead a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and inventory management systems is highly desirable.
• Professional certifications such as NAPM membership or CPM are advantageous.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships to secure the best terms and maintain quality standards.
• Capability to assess procurement data, supplier performance, and inventory metrics to drive actionable insights and strategic decisions.
• Proficiency at interpreting 2D engineering and material drawings as well as understanding of manufacturing processes.
