About the position

The Purchasing Manager will oversee the process of sourcing and purchasing essential materials according to production needs and company requirements. This role is crucial for ensuring that the company has the necessary supplies to operate efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage, prepare, and process purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Prepare and implement instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing.
• Collaborate with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.
• Research material for cost and value, negotiate with suppliers, and close deals with optimal terms.
• Seek and partner with dependable vendors and suppliers.
• Assess, manage, and mitigate risks for potential supply or cost issues.
• Resolve grievances with vendors and suppliers.
• Maintain purchasing and recordkeeping systems.
• Manage purchasing staff and direct workload.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field required.
• Five years of experience in purchasing field required.
• Microsoft applications and ERP system knowledge required.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.
