About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Monroe Truck Equipment is responsible for vendor management, product sourcing, and inventory management to meet the company's procurement needs. This role involves evaluating suppliers, executing stock replenishment, and ensuring timely delivery of goods while maintaining compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities

• Make inquiries and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, and other factors relevant to the organization.
• Execute stock replenishment while making buying decisions based on current market conditions with respect to quantities, order minimums or prepaid terms and mode of transportation.
• Communicate with suppliers concerning order status and delivery.
• Monitor shipments to guarantee on-time delivery and settle problems associated with undelivered goods.
• Maintain supplier lead times, price, stocking levels, minimum buy information, and terms compliance in the ERP system.
• Analyze different commodity markets to understand market trends.
• Work with Suppliers on First Article Approval and defective purchased goods.
• Collaborate with sales representatives, purchasing agents, manufacturing, scheduling, and engineering departments on new and existing sales & new product realization.
• Assist the Quality department in evaluating supplier performance related to on-time delivery, fill rates, quality defects, shipping errors, cost improvements, and other measures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in the supply chain field.
• Previous purchasing leadership within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Financial acumen necessary to develop price analyses and ensure adherence to budgets.
• Ability to build relationships across all departments and levels within the organization.
