About the position

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement activities at Screenco Manufacturing, a building products manufacturer located in Dallas, TX. This role is critical in sourcing and acquiring supplies, materials, and services necessary for our operations. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, improving inventory turnover, and ensuring the procurement of high-quality products at competitive prices while guaranteeing timely and complete deliveries. In this position, you will manage the entire supply chain process, which includes issuing purchase orders and receiving goods across multiple locations. You will work closely with production and sales teams to ensure clear communication and effective material planning. Additionally, you will develop, implement, and maintain purchasing policies, procedures, and operational guidelines for purchasing and contract management. Your negotiation skills will be essential as you negotiate terms and pricing for materials, equipment, supplies, and services. You will execute the materials plan to support the master production schedule and meet customer demand, coordinate the transfer of materials between company warehouse locations, and deliver outstanding customer service to internal stakeholders by providing solutions, resources, and alternative supply options. Evaluating and selecting both current and potential vendors for materials, equipment, supplies, and services will also be part of your responsibilities. You will create and manage vendor scorecards to assess performance and conduct evaluations, optimize inventory investment by monitoring, maintaining, and reporting on inventory levels throughout the supply chain, and ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, transaction audits, and physical inventory checks. Furthermore, you will partner with the engineering department to source materials and equipment for new projects.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and MRP tools.
  • Advanced skills in Excel.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree.
  • SCMP, C.P.P., or CPIM designation is preferred.
  • Experience in the metals or building materials industry is a plus.

  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred.
