About the position

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing procurement activities within the company, which has a long-standing history in supplying hardware and roofing products. This role is temporary, aimed at covering for an employee on medical leave, with the potential for a full-time position depending on circumstances. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in purchasing, particularly in construction-related materials, and will be expected to maintain the company's commitment to quality and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement activities for the company.
• Manage purchasing processes and supplier relationships.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.
• Maintain inventory levels and control costs.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet purchasing needs.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
• Five or more years of experience in a buyer or procurement role.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• Experience with Biztrack from Epicor is preferred but not required.
• Some construction-related purchasing experience, ideally with lumber.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work at least forty hours per week.
