About the position

The Purchasing Manager at HellermannTyton is responsible for overseeing and enhancing strategic supplier relationships while managing various purchasing processes. The role focuses on obtaining the best overall value for materials, products, supplies, and services, with the aim of improving quality, streamlining processes, and minimizing costs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies.
• Develop the supplier base to meet quality, cost, and on-time delivery requirements.
• Manage supplier relations and negotiate contracts, prices, and timelines.
• Assess, manage, and mitigate risks.
• Evaluate and execute cost reductions and quality improvements within the supply chain.
• Participate in new product developments.
• Manage supplier rating systems.
• Mentor and develop staff.
• Recommend and implement purchasing policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and inventory control to manage inventory needs.
• Recommend and implement leading-edge purchasing systems and processes.
• Use data analytics to drive continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels and manage performance evaluations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
• 7+ years of purchasing and negotiating experience, with 2+ years managing others.
• Automotive manufacturing experience with a global organization preferred.
• Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
• Thorough understanding of MRP concepts.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (JD Edwards/PeopleSoft preferred).
• Proven experience with data analysis and process improvement.
• International supply chain experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• CPM certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
