About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Morrison Healthcare is responsible for overseeing the purchasing processes to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met. This role involves strong leadership and effective management to support organizational priorities and enhance the company's financial position. The Purchasing Manager will communicate with team members, negotiate pricing, manage inventory, and compile reports, all while ensuring timely delivery of goods.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with key team and management associates relative to purchases consistent with needs and specifications.
• Ensures weekly inventory is correct and there are no errors before submission.
• Negotiates pricing and purchases goods, ensuring delivery in a timely manner.
• Reviews shipments to ensure products received are consistent with orders.
• Compiles monthly reports.
• Works with Excel and Visual Basic to manage inventory.

Requirements

• Minimum of Associate's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years related experience in the field.
• Full knowledge of purchasing procedures, food, beverage, and printing products.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ordering systems.
• Good knowledge of food and inventory trends with a focus on operations.
• P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable.
• Accurate data-entry skills, computer skills, and great organizational skills are required.
• Knowledge of school nutrition/food industry and/or purchasing strongly preferred.
• Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, E-mail, and the Internet.
• Serv Safe certification is highly desirable.
