About the position

The Purchasing Manager leads and develops the Purchasing Team within the Automation Solutions Business Unit, focusing on the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services to meet the financial and operational objectives of the organization. This role is responsible for implementing advanced Supply Chain Strategies, fostering a Lean Culture, and ensuring the team's growth and performance through effective management and collaboration with various departments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Manufacturing, Materials, Project Managers, Engineering, Sales, and leadership to drive Supply Chain performance by improving supplier cost, quality, and lead times.
• Develops and executes on time delivery, inventory turns, inventory availability adherence to production plans, and cost improvements.
• Facilitates and leads strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials and addresses potential delays or quality issues.
• Supports the removal of barriers to improve shipping and receiving costs to facilitate timely transport of goods.
• Establishes and maintains systems and processes to ensure an honest, fair, and ethical work environment, adhering to legal regulations.

Requirements

• Materials, Business, Finance, or Engineering degree, or equivalent experience
• 5-10 years of direct Purchasing or Sourcing Leadership Experience
• Experience with computerized purchasing systems including EPR/MRP, with SAP experience desired
• Ability to deal and negotiate with suppliers
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to function independently
• Effective communicator (verbal, written)
• Strong technical aptitude
• Analytical/data-driven
