About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Albert Uster Imports is responsible for overseeing procurement and inventory control functions, managing supplier relationships, demand planning, and logistics coordination. This role is crucial for maintaining optimal inventory levels, ensuring product availability, and controlling costs within the supply chain. Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement and inventory control functions.
• Manage supplier relationships and demand planning.
• Coordinate logistics, including warehouse-to-warehouse transfers.
• Maintain optimal stock levels across multiple warehouse locations.
• Issue and process purchase orders for raw materials and supplies.
• Evaluate vendor performance and resolve quality or delivery issues.
• Coordinate foreign and domestic freight with the logistics team.
• Participate in weekly stock review meetings and implement decisions based on inventory needs.
• Enforce quality control processes and manage product claims with vendors.
• Review reports on purchasing activities and provide insights to management.
• Mentor and support purchasing assistants and team members.

Requirements

• 4+ years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles.
• At least 2 years in a managerial or senior role.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and moderate/advanced Excel skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience in supplier negotiations.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field.
