About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Type One Energy will play a crucial role in managing procurement activities related to stellarator fusion technology. This position involves ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and optimizing procurement processes to support production needs. The role requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to foster long-term supplier relationships, contributing to the company's mission of commercializing fusion energy.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities for stellarator fusion technology materials.
• Create, process, and manage purchase orders within NetSuite.
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize costs.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers to expand the vendor base.
• Negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers for competitive pricing.
• Monitor purchase order fulfillment and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and optimize inventory.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers to improve performance.
• Conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers.
• Continuously analyze market trends and supply chain risks.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and contracts.
• Generate reports on procurement performance and cost savings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in purchasing/buying.
• Proven experience with NetSuite.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to procurement activities.
