We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the feed or pet food industry and a thorough understanding of packaging materials and suppliers. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality materials and products. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with company objectives, ensuring a consistent supply of materials and products. You will identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure the best possible pricing and quality. Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with production and sales teams to forecast needs will be crucial to ensure optimal stock levels. You will analyze market trends and supplier pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost control measures without compromising on quality. Quality assurance is a key aspect of this role, as you will ensure that all purchased materials and products meet company quality standards and regulatory requirements. Regular supplier audits and quality checks will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will source and manage packaging materials, ensuring they meet the specific requirements of the feed or pet food products while staying updated on the latest packaging innovations and regulations. Maintaining accurate procurement records and generating reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance will be essential. You will work closely with R&D, production, quality assurance, and marketing teams to align procurement activities with product development and business goals. Risk management will also be a critical part of your role, as you will identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate them. Compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to procurement and supplier management is expected.
