About the position

For over 40 years, KRC Rock Inc. has established itself as San Diego's premier source for natural stone, bulk rock products, landscape products, and boulders. Our extensive range of landscape and masonry materials has enabled us to cater to a diverse clientele, including architects, designers, contractors, and homeowners. We are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee the daily procurement needs of KRC Rock Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective inventory control strategies, maintaining strategic buying relationships, and ensuring the cost-effective acquisition of goods. As the Purchasing Manager, you will lead and supervise the Purchasing staff, which includes all aspects of hiring, training, performance management, and termination. You will identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and establish long-term relationships. Additionally, you will manage the entire procurement process, which involves creating, reviewing, and approving purchase orders, ensuring that all purchase orders are either received or retracted on a monthly basis. Monitoring product levels and maintaining an up-to-date inventory that sales team members can access and trust will be crucial. You will forecast demand to optimize stock levels and collaborate with Operations to reduce dead stock. Furthermore, you will improve quality control processes to ensure that all goods received meet quality standards and comply with purchase orders. Managing the purchasing budget will also be a key responsibility, ensuring adherence to financial targets and minimizing unnecessary expenditures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
