About the position

The Purchasing Manager will oversee the procurement of materials and components, focusing on electro-mechanical assemblies and raw materials sourced from fabricators. This role involves coordinating technical specifications and working closely with engineering to meet production needs, while managing vendor relationships and ensuring supply chain reliability.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain vendor relationships; negotiate prices, terms, and resolve supply issues.
• Ensure supply chain reliability, monitor inventory, verify invoices, and maintain accurate costs in QuickBooks.
• Manage and update Bills of Materials (BOM), qualify vendors, and perform cost analysis.
• Implement re-order levels, oversee purchasing processes, and follow up on deliveries.
• Conduct vendor site visits, audit inventories, and assess performance.
• Coordinate with customer service to prioritize orders and reduce backlog.
• Ensure fulfillment targets are met by shipping and logistics teams.
• Supervise warehouse staff and manage productivity.

Requirements

• Experience in electro-mechanical procurement and vendor negotiation.
• Knowledge of UL, NEC, OSHA; proficiency in QuickBooks, Word, Excel.
• 2 years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement is required.
• 2 years of experience in QuickBooks is required.
