About the position

The Purchasing Manager role is focused on sourcing equipment, goods, and services while overseeing inventory management and vendor relationships. This position requires a strategic approach to procurement, ensuring effective vendor sourcing and qualification, and maintaining optimal cost structures. The ideal candidate will be passionate about purchasing and adept at managing vendor relationships to support the company's R&D and OEM manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, review product quality, and supervise purchasing agents, buyers, and inventory specialists
• Purchase equipment, parts, and services
• Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
• Assess, manage, and mitigate risks
• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
• Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
• Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
• Track and follow up on procurements to ensure promised delivery dates are maintained
• Manage receiving, inventory, and kitting operations
• Manage buyers and inventory specialists

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration is required
• 10+ years of relevant experience in purchasing is preferred
• Experience with ERP systems as a management tool
• Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management and using vendor management software
• Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures

Benefits

• Salary Range: $75,000-85,000 base salary
