About the position

The Purchasing Manager at FerroWorks is responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring efficient acquisition of materials across multiple plants. This role involves leading a team, developing procurement strategies, and driving cost savings while maintaining quality and sustainability in the supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the procurement process and manage supplier relationships.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the purchasing team.
  • Ensure continuous supply of raw materials to meet operational requirements.
  • Develop and implement raw material sustainability strategies.
  • Create and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and quality.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for advantageous terms.
  • Manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Monitor and manage purchasing budgets, tracking expenditures and reporting on financial metrics.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and supplier capabilities.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand purchasing needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouses for optimal stock levels.
  • Prepare and present reports on purchasing, suppliers, and cost analysis.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional experience in Purchasing, procurement, or a similar role.
  • At least 2 years of direct or indirect leadership experience.
  • Strong negotiation skills and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification from a professional purchasing organization (e.g., C.P.M., C.P.S.M.) is a plus.
  • Experience in a foundry or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership attributes.
