About the position

The Purchasing Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the procurement process within the organization. This position is responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that all procurement activities align with the company's operational goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain management to effectively manage contracts and optimize purchasing processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with organizational objectives.
• Manage the entire purchasing process, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and purchasing goods and services.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of products.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained.
• Utilize procurement systems such as Fishbowl for tracking purchases, managing contracts, and generating reports.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding procurement practices.
• Conduct regular reviews of supplier contracts to ensure adherence to terms and conditions while identifying areas for renegotiation or improvement.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement management.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
• Proficient in contract negotiation techniques to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
• Experience with procurement management processes, including vendor selection and evaluation.
• Familiarity with contract management best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Excellent analytical skills to assess market conditions and supplier performance metrics.
• Strong communication skills for building relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
