About the position

The Purchasing Manager at TTM Technologies, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the procurement function, ensuring that performance targets related to yield, cycle time, cost, and delivery are met. This role involves directing the purchasing department's activities, collaborating with other departments, and interfacing with both internal and external customers to report on key performance metrics. The Purchasing Manager will also develop and implement purchasing strategies, manage vendor relationships, and lead a team of buyers.

Responsibilities

• Direct and control the activities of the purchasing department in collaboration with other department managers.
• Ensure performance targets for yield, cycle time, cost, and delivery are met.
• Interface with external and internal customers to report on major metrics and performance against targets.
• Assist with the development of MRP or other systems to maintain competitive advantage.
• Develop supplier requirements and certification to meet objectives.
• Conduct required inventory controls and reports for financial accounting.
• Select prospective vendors and negotiate contracts.
• Evaluate vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price.
• Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions for purchase agreements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to contract terms.
• Develop and execute purchasing strategies to optimize costs and improve procurement processes.
• Oversee the work of buyers, hire and train new staff, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.

Requirements

• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong negotiating, cost analysis, and logistics skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to manage time and organize effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in business management, business administration, or supply chain (preferred).
• Previous leadership experience (preferred).
• Previous experience with printed circuit boards (preferred).
