We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that we obtain quality products and services at competitive prices. The Purchasing Manager will manage the procurement process, which includes sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in purchasing, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to analyze market trends to make informed purchasing decisions. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for supplier management, procurement strategy development, contract management, inventory management, team leadership, and reporting and analysis. This position requires a strategic thinker who can optimize the supply chain, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to secure favorable conditions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and quality of products and services.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and budgetary constraints.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Optimize the supply chain to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budget.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast future needs to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely availability of products and materials.
  • Supervise and mentor purchasing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
  • Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, expenditures, and supplier performance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a purchasing or procurement role, with a strong track record of successful negotiations and supplier management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
