About the position
The Purchasing Manager will oversee the procurement of parts and materials for various commercial service jobs, including plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and carpentry. This role involves vendor communication, price negotiation, order preparation, and shipment tracking, as well as managing warehouse operations and personnel.
Responsibilities
- Determine needs and order parts for commercial service jobs.
- Locate and communicate with vendors for procurement.
- Negotiate prices with vendors when necessary.
- Prepare purchase orders and track shipments.
- Maintain receipts and return records for materials.
- Direct and coordinate warehouse personnel activities.
- Ensure the warehouse and stock are maintained in an orderly fashion.
Requirements
- Experience in purchasing and procurement processes.
- Thorough knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry trades.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office and field management software.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
