About the position

The Purchasing Manager will develop and execute strategic purchasing initiatives to enhance production effectiveness and reduce expenses. This role involves managing vendor relationships, analyzing key metrics, and ensuring high-quality procurement of goods to support the company's manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and execute comprehensive strategic purchasing initiatives and objectives.
  • Manage and analyze key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve production effectiveness.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to clarify requirements for documentation.
  • Forecast future production needs based on both historical data and planned usage.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers.
  • Determine optimal order quantities, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage multiple vendor relationships and a diverse large range of stock keeping units (SKUs).
  • Gather and analyze data and metrics to compile reports to management.
  • Ensure high-quality and cost-effective procurement of goods, impacting production capabilities and overall market success.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7-10 years experience as a Purchasing Manager, Agent, or Officer preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, but relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Excellent Negotiation, Sourcing, Vendor Management, and decision-making skills required.
  • Strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise with SAP Business One or a related ERP platform required.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
